PayIt2 is an online payment collection platform built in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We make it simple for organizers of fundraisers, events, and group activities to collect money from participants.

Our story

PayIt2 started in 2007 when Brian Anderson and Joel Ross saw a simple problem: collecting money from groups of people was harder than it needed to be. Whether it was team dues, event tickets, or fundraising for a cause, organizers were stuck with cash, checks, and spreadsheets.

They built PayIt2 (originally Pay It Square) to solve that problem. The platform launched in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and quickly grew to serve organizers across the country, from school fundraisers and sports leagues to charity events and community groups.

In 2023, Thomas Zinn joined as CEO to lead the next chapter. With a background in fintech and cloud infrastructure, Thomas is focused on rebuilding the platform with modern technology, AI-powered tools, and a commitment to serving every lawful cause, including the legal defense fundraising community where other platforms have drawn lines.

Today, PayIt2 is rebuilding from the ground up with AI-powered campaign creation, automated promotion, and intelligent participant engagement. The mission hasn't changed: make collecting payments simple, secure, and accessible for everyone.

Our history

2007

Founded in Grand Rapids

Brian Anderson and Joel Ross launch Pay It Square, an online payment collection platform for groups and events.

2010

PayPal X Award

Pay It Square wins the PayPal Request/Send Money X Award for innovation in peer-to-peer payments.

2011

Growth through OST

Pay It Square merges with Open Systems Technologies (OST), a Grand Rapids IT consulting firm, expanding the platform's reach and technical resources.

2023

New leadership, new chapter

Thomas Zinn joins as CEO after PayIt2 separates from Vervint (formerly OST). The platform rebrands from Pay It Square to PayIt2 and begins a complete technology rebuild.

2026

V2: AI-powered platform

PayIt2 V2 launches with AI-powered campaign creation, automated promotion, and intelligent participant engagement. New positioning as the trusted platform for legal defense fundraising.
