Event Information

You and your guests are invited to the not-so annual Dvorak crawfish boil!  As in the past, the event will be a charity event with 100% of your rsvp donation going to Claire's Army (www.clairesarmy.org). Claire’s Army strives to act as God’s hands and feet by providing support for families fighting childhood cancer. Through an established network of resources they support the families’ daily responsibilities, allowing them to put their time and focus on their child. The Army serves the families of children right here in Charlotte.  Gator and I have a personal fondness for Claire's Army.

The event will be on Saturday, April 28th from 2 pm till 8 pm at the Park Crossing Swim and Racquet Clubhouse.  

What to expect:

Bring your appetites!  There will be crawfish with all the fixins' (shrimp, potatoes, corn, garlic, mushrooms, Andouille sausage, boiled eggs).  If anyone wants to bring something to share I would suggest desert (cookies, brownies, etc) but nothing is required.  We are limited by the head count; have nothing to entertain young ones; there are multiple large boiling pots of water.....so please no children. Your teenagers are optional.

There will be several options of keg beer, including one keg of home brew from my brother Jim.  Water and a few non-alcoholic options will also be available.

For entertainment...Porcelain Mary!!! They are a well known local band that will keep us singing along, moving our feet and I suspect some will be dancing.  Check out their facebook page! (https://www.facebook.com/porcelainmary/)

What to bring:

Your ID - we will be carding everyone for legal purposes!

Any collapsable chairs you would like to sit on.  Although we will be in a large indoor area there will not be much seating.  Please put your name on your items in case anything is left behind.  

Corn hole boards, or other tailgating style games you would like to play.  

Your plan for safe transportation home!

and of course YOUR APPETITE!!

What's next:

The cost is $30 / person.  Entry and payment will be available at the door if the event is not sold out. Fire code cuts us off at 125 people max.  Don't be left at the door!  Reserve your spot today!  

100% of the RSVP proceeds will go to Claire's Army.  If you would like to make an additional donation to such a great charity you can do so during check out, by visiting www.clairesarmy.org or at the event itself.  You are supporting a great local charity who provides so much for children and their families during an extremely difficult time in their lives.  

And finally, please drink responsibly and be sure to have designated drivers or an uber/lyft plan.  We don't want to see a great event and day end with tragedy. I hope to see you all there!!
