Update #1

Jul 4th, 2023 @ 2:07 AM
By now, most everyone who is on Facebook should've received an invite to the "private" Friday night party at Scott Matthews' house.  If you're not on FB, then be "updated" that the party starts at 6pm Friday night.  Address is 59347 Keria Trail, South Bend, IN 46614.  We're having a "taco truck" available and for just $10, you can have a choice of 3 tacos, 1 burrito, or 1 quesadilla along with all the fixin's.  We'll have beverages (a keg (or 2), water, and other drinks), live music, a pit fire, and more planned.

There are no changes to the planned golf outing at EBERHART course Sat AM at 10 AM (we had to move the course around twice).  We will have swag available to every participant.  Only have spots for eight foursomes......

School tour, no changes, starts at 3 pm

Sat nite event: No changes: 6:30 pm start, polish buffet, 3 hrs of OPEN bar, so buy a ticket if you haven't done so....

Event Information

40 years! A lot has happened over that time.  Some good.  Some bad.  If you could have one weekend where you could catch up in person with people you grew up with and forget all the stressors of today,  THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

We are planning a reunion weekend just for you.  We've also invited anyone from the Class of '82 and '84 to join us in this party on July 21 & 22, 2023!!

It starts with an "informal BYOB gathering" Friday night at someone's house (details later).  Then, on Sat AM, a golf outing is planned at EBERHART-PETRO GOLF COURSE in Mishawaka @ 10 AM (go to event notice on our FB page).  A school tour is planned for Saturday afternoon.  Finally, a party Sat PM at the Ironworks Event Center in downtown Mishawaka.  This is a new scenic venue overlooking the river.  We're going all out for this one (including food, DJ, and an OPEN BAR!).  By Open Bar, we mean beer/wine and call mixed drinks for THREE hours.  This is STRICTLY CASUAL! No formal attire necessary! This is just hanging out on the river (inside or outside) with a bunch of classmates on a summer evening!

Of course, it takes $$ organizing all of these events.  We're trying to balance keeping costs down, yet maximizing your entertainment value!  One can say getting a chance to meet everyone again you haven't seen in years is priceless!

You will have a choice between three options.  1) Saturday PM event ticket WITHOUT the open bar.  2) Saturday PM event ticket WITH the open bar (for THREE hours - followed by a cash bar).  3) A FREE TICKET option if you were on the fence about coming because of cost concerns.  Thanks to donations from classmates so far, we were able to offer some free tickets.  Part of the proceeds from the Saturday night event will cover other expenses on Friday night.  We are still welcoming any donation from classmates to help offset the costs for those who may not be able to come for $$ reasons, or to help out with our expenses.

NOTE: NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.  The vendors need a head count 1 week before the event to make sure enough food and alcohol are available!

We're working on menu items, and most importantly, finding as many people as we legally can!  Right now, we only have Facebook, LinkedIn, and word of mouth to go on.  We need everyone to spread the word reading this message.  We are also working on a drawing for all attendees for a LARGE VACATION PRIZE!!

At checkout, you'll be asked three questions.  The first is to ask for an updated address, cell#, email to compile for our directory.  Also include your GRAD YEAR and MAIDEN NAME.  The second is if you can provide us with any updated info on classmates not on social media (addresses, cell#, email).   If we have enough time and resources, we could compile an "updated" directory (from Mary Spillane's directory in 2003) of as many people we can find with phone numbers, email addresses, and a short bio on life events over the last 20-40 years!  The third is to ask if you are planning to attend the other events (Fri PM, golf, school tour).  This will help us plan for supplies, tee times, etc.

Go to our FB page "Clay High School Class of 1983" to stay updated.  This event will be cross-promoted on the Class of '82 and Class of '84 FB pages as well!
