Tips for Promoting Your Page

General:

  • If you got it, flaunt it! Share it with the world, shout it from the rooftops. PARKOUR! Or play it safe by sharing your PayIt2 Collect Page on your social media accounts. 
     
  • If you have an existing blog or website, you can embed your PayIt2 page directly into it. Go to the "Share" tab on your Manage List page, and follow the instructions there under the Advanced Section. 
     
  • Feeling fancy? We already know. It's easy to customize your page with an appropriate picture and a matching theme.
     
  • If you prefer kickin it old school, there's always the email option. Utilize your Manage List page to send out emails to people you'd like to invite to check out your Collect Page. Simply enter their First & Last Name and their email, and you're good to go!

Fundraisers:

  • Tell your story! People are more likely to support your cause if you explain not only what you're doing, but WHY you're doing it. 
     
  • Be as transparent as possible about costs, beneficiaries, and results. Update your Collect Page so that donors can hear how your project is going. Laying it all out on the table shows credibility, and establishes trust with your donors. 
     

  • Donation amounts are open, so your donors can contribute as much as they'd like to your Collect Page.

Events:

  • Get the people pumped for your event EARLY! Send out invites as early as possible. This might sound obvious, but the more time you give people to pay you, the better the turnout and the smoother the event will run. 
     
  • Promoting and event on social media is a HUGE indicator whether or not it will be successful. For example: Share your Collect Page on your Facebook Event. All the cool kids are doing it. 

 

Group Payments:

  • Instead of hassling people to pay on time, let your Manage List call them out for you. Make those who are Paid or Unpaid visible! Just go to the "Advanced Settings" section on your page, and under the "List Privacy Options" select all boxes to put it all out there. The added social pressure will help transform your friends from "No-Go's" to "Best (Paid) Bros". 
     
  • Get the info you need to keep track of by asking a question when people pay on your Collect Page. Go to "Edit Page"–> "Collect Options"–> +Create New Question. Example: "What's your favorite pizza topping?" You can also see this info in the reports as well, which can help you order pizza like a pro. 
     

 

Search Engine Tips

You want people to be able to find your page right away. Some people lose their link and have to use a search engine to find it again. Take some tips from here to make sure your page gets found. 

  • Name your pictures. If you are going to upload a picture, name it the same as your title. Collect-money-for-my-fundraiser.jpg works much better than funny_picture_of_dave.jpg
     
  • Include what type of page you are setting up in the body of your paragraph. This will help search engines identify your page from the thousands of others on PayIt2. Add something like "Help My Hamster Lose Weight by Paying For Its New Wheel Using PayIt2" instead of "Use this PayIt2 site to pay me"
     
  • Share! Share! Share! If you are collecting money from your friends, post it on their walls! If you are fundraising, paste a link to your page on your site! Every extra link to your page could mean more donations!
