Today, Staffon is detained at Eloy Detention Center (CoreCivic) in Eloy, Arizona, held by ICE while his asylum case is pending before an immigration judge. He is entitled to a fair bond hearing — a hearing where he can demonstrate with evidence that he is not a flight risk and not a danger to his community.

But that hearing means nothing without an attorney in that courtroom who knows how to fight for him.

Staffon Isiah Barr left the Bahamas with nothing but a valid visa and a belief that America rewards people who work hard and serve others.

He was right.

For years, Staffon quietly built a life in Arizona that most people only talk about. He showed up every day and served:

• Dignified Assisted Living (Avondale, AZ) — caring for elderly residents who had no one else, at a state-licensed facility

• Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, Phoenix, AZ — sitting with adults fighting addiction, helping them believe they could win

• Securitas Security Services, posted at Microsoft (Phoenix metro) — cleared for operations at one of the world's most security-conscious companies

• Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) — Youth Corrections Officer I, October 2025 to May 2026

Every single role required him to pass rigorous state background checks and Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearances. He did not just pass — he was trusted.

To work inside Arizona's juvenile justice system, Staffon was required to complete intensive training in crisis intervention, mandatory reporting, behavioral health protocols, and juvenile justice standards. The state of Arizona looked at this man from the Bahamas and said: we trust you with our most vulnerable youth. He wore that badge with everything he had.

He showed up to his ADJC shift in full uniform on one of the hardest days of his life — badge on, ready to serve.

That is who Staffon Barr is.

On June 4, 2026, while complying with local authorities, ICE agents took Staffon into custody.

His charge: unlawful presence. An overstay of the tourist visa he entered on legally. No immigration crime. No border crossing. No criminal conviction of any kind.

Eloy Detention Center is not just any facility. Investigators and federal watchdog organizations have documented it as one of the most troubled immigration detention centers in the United States — a record of deaths, medical neglect, and denied access to legal counsel that is a matter of public record.
