My name is David Ayala. I’ve been incarcerated since October 15th, 1981, for a crime I am innocent of and wrongfully convicted.
After decades in prison and a long struggle, I was finally able to secure proper legal representation with the hiring of Attorney Jennifer Bonjean to argue my case.
A brief synopsis of my legal standing.
I filed a post-Conviction petition raising issues that were not presented at my trial. It is my strong belief that had they been so I would have been acquitted of the charges. The circuit court judge denied my petition without considering the totality of the evidence presented.
My attorney’s appealed the ruling to the appellate court, the results being the appellate Judges unanimously ruled in my favor by reversing the circuit court’s denial/dismissal of my petition, substantiating the merits of my case and order an evidentiary hearing.
We will very soon present new evidence and witnesses attesting to my innocence at the evidentiary hearing.
Note: Funds previously raised via another website covered legal cost for the post conviction, ET, AL petition, our goal and need now us to cover fees with the next stage.
