My brother, Roy Jackson Jr., has been incarcerated in the Washington State Department of Corrections for nearly 15 years, and has less than five years remaining on his sentence. On August 3, 2026, Roy was placed in solitary confinement while the Washington State Department of Corrections investigates an alleged assault involving another incarcerated individual. During this difficult time, a Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputy came to speak with Roy and read him his rights, which has made our family extremely concerned about the possibility of additional legal consequences.

We are raising funds to help Roy obtain experienced legal representation so he has someone knowledgeable in his corner who can review the circumstances, advocate for him, protect his legal rights, and help ensure that he receives fair treatment and due process. Our family understands the seriousness of the situation, but we also believe Roy deserves the opportunity to have his side heard and to have qualified legal counsel helping him navigate this process.

This is an incredibly emotional time for our family. After almost 15 years behind bars and with less than five years remaining on his sentence, we’re hopeful that Roy will have the support and representation he needs to get through this situation. We are not asking anyone to assume guilt or innocence—we are simply asking for help giving Roy access to legal representation and a fair opportunity to defend himself.

We are committed to being completely transparent with every dollar raised. Funds will be used toward legal representation and related legal expenses, and we will provide updates to supporters throughout this journey.
