Event Information
By all measures, the Spanish Immersion program in Sioux Falls has been a tremendous success! Our students are achieving at truly impressive levels across the board, in both Spanish and English. We have wonderful teachers, a strong community and talented interns all supporting the growth and development of our kids. Since nearly the start of the program, the primary fundraising event for the Spanish Immersion program has been La Fiesta. This year PASI is proud to introduce The Great Gatherings fundraising and community building event! While the Spanish Immersion program is a public school one, it does take additional funds to operate at our current level. Our largest expense is our intern program. The native Spanish speaking classroom teaching assistants are an integral and crucial part of the success of our entire program. This year we will require 13 interns at a total cost of approximately $50,000. If that cost were broken down by student, it would be roughly $75 per individual student. We certainly understand that some families may not be able to contribute at this level, while others can do much more. Please thoughtfully consider how your family can support our Spanish Immersion program by participating in The Great Gatherings event. In order to reach our goal, we need many volunteers as well as donations of money, items for silent auction and hosts for Great Gatherings. Our biggest goal is that every family participates in this special event in some capacity. Let’s build our Spanish Immersion community while raising money to keep the interns in each classroom, benefitting every student!
