Event Information

VSSN’s Daisy Walk will join the “Send Silence Packing” campaign on April 27th, 2019 at Sysco in Riverside County starting at 8 am. VSSN will spread awareness of military and veteran suicide as walkers start and finish the walk. Veterans Supplemental Support Network (VSSN),  the organization responsible for coordinating resources and activities that connect military and veteran families who are struggling and need help to mental health resources and family support services.

Here are ways you can join VSSN and participate at the 2019 Daisy Walk.

  1. VSSN members and supporters are asked to bring over 1,000 empty sling bags, tactical backpacks, sea sack, etc. that symbolize more than 1,000 veterans and military service members who have died by suicide each year. VSSN supporters and members will scatter the backpacks/sacks attached with a message with either a personal story, resource, message of hope, or how to help. The personal stories that people can read are in memory and in honor of the loved ones who have taken their own lives or stories of hope.

  2. Don't forget to wear your daisies! Pins and face painting sponsored by Paul Mitchell Schools are available on site...wearing red daisies means you lost a loved one, yellow or gold daisies means that you are currently battling or supports a loved one battling with thoughts/ideations, and wearing blue daisies represents that you are HERE and willing to support and get HELP.
