It's been 35 Years!

Let's mark this anniversary with something special...

What: A weekend of getting together with classmates and friends from/of the Class of '79 with some organized events.

Who: Anyone who graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1979 and guest(s), anyone who was part of our class at some point, fellow classmates who graduated before or after us...AND anyone who had a lot of friends in our class and would like to come!

When: October 3 - 5, 2014

Accomodations: Room block information to be provided shortly.

Reunion Planning.

So far, we are talking about having:

an informal Meet and Greet on Friday evening, October 3, 2014,
an informal Picnic on Saturday October 4, 2014 during the day, 11 - 4?
a formal event (NYC Skyline Cruise w/ food, open bar, music & dancing, and photos) on Saturday evening from 7 - 11, and
an informal Farewell Breakfast on Sunday.

For the informal Meet and Greet and Farewell Breakfast, we could get a count and reserve a place, and pay individually.

Picnic: details TBD, perhaps Sunken Meadow State Park, perhaps option of potluck or cash price

NYC Skyline Cruise

When: Saturday, October 4, 2014; 7 - 11 pm, boarding at 6:30 pm

Where: World's Fair Marina, Queens

Cost: $125 per person + transaction fees

(Please enter guests names at check out in the "Add a Guest" section.)

Cocktail Attire suggested.

Deadline: Please pay at least your $50 pp deposit by Sunday, June 22, 2014. Any remaining balance must be paid by Sunday, September 21, 2014.

NOTE: No tickets will be mailed, your reservation will be confirmed with your paid receipt and your name will be on a guest list. If buying tickets for multiple people, please enter the names of all guests in the "Add a Guest" section at check out. Otherwise, any guests MUST enter the reunion with the person who paid for the reservation.

OPTIONAL Donations / Sponsorships Welcome and Appreciated!

Donate to assist with the costs such as souvenir programs, door prizes/Chinese auction items, park reservation fees and any other miscellaneous costs of hosting the events.
Sponsor an event, a souvenir program, door prizes/Chinese auction items, etc. (all or partial). An ad can be placed in a souvenir program.

We appreciate any amount you can contribute. Donations of Door prizes/Chinese auction items also welcome and appreciated!

Dinner, open bar, music and dancing under the stars, and photo favors as we cruise the NYC Skyline! (Please make sure to purchase the appropriate number of tickets if you will be bringing a guest(s).) No tickets will be mailed. Your name(s) will be on a guest list at the door. You can let us know now that you are coming even if you are not prepared to pay today as we would like to know ASAP if we have enough interest, i.e., 122 for a private cruise or 75 for a full deck on a public cruise . (Select "check out" and then "pay later" but please pay at least your deposit by June 22 (see why below)) In order to charter the entire yacht for a private tour, we need $3400 in deposits for the yacht, music of our choice and photo favors (www.magnetman.com) by Sunday, June 22. We would also need a minimum of 122 people to attend. We need (68) $50pp deposits for classmates/guests by June 22 to do this. (Unless some people pay the final payment by then as well.) Ideally, we would also need a minimum of 122 total RSVPs. Otherwise, we will reserve a private deck on a public cruise for the same amount of money but they would provide a DJ, there would probably not be photo favors, and the menu may be different.
