#WHAAAAT???
5 days away and less than $500 left!
$492 to be exact.
While your encouragement and congratulations text definitely make me feel affirmed in my efforts, your fiscal support is so important right now.
If you have liked or shared my statuses and links in the past, but haven't donated to my campaign, please consider doing so this week. Your contribution truly makes a difference!
Thank you again to all who have donated and supported my fundraiser thus far.

Can't believe I am merely INCHES from my goal guys! And since I'm so close, I now have until JUNE 9TH to come up with the rest, or $752. I started at 0 and almost $2,400 in no sight. Now I'm 3/4 through, but still need your help!
I know giving toward the end of the month can be tricky, but $1, 5, 10, 20 still goes a long way.
Thanks again for ALL of your love, support, encouragement, affirmations. It's the reason why I applied to this program to begin with!
With love and light,

Can't believe how much progress has been made since I created this campaign - I thank you all to those have contributed to this progress and am glad to say we still have time to meet my goal! I recently made a *successful* request for an extension though this week so you still have an time to donate! The new deadline is now FRIDAY, MAY 25TH.
I've got another $1,850 to go - share, contribute, tell a friend, and help me finish my campaign before the end of the week!
With love,

Hey gang,
As of today, you have helped me successfully hit 2 of my 3 major fundraising goals, the first deposit ($500) and airfare ($295 via private donation).
The only things left are my on-campus housing and the remaining cost of tuition left to raise - in total, $1,850.00, due in 15 days.
Thank you all again whether you have donated or shared with your networks, I truly appreciate your generosity and support in my campaign thus far!
Stay tuned for more updates!

Y'all.
I just got accepted into THREAD at Yale, a gathering of professional non-fiction journalists and storytellers pushing boundaries in modern media. As an image-maker soon to be surrounded by mostly literary artists, this experience is going to literally transform my practice in storytelling and I cannot wait to join this small group of mighty minds and learn from masters in the field, and most importantly from each other!
lil history about the program: THREAD is an offshoot of the Yale Journalism Initiative (YJI). YJI was founded in 2006 to encourage Yale students to consider careers in journalism. The Initiative’s faculty so far have included Steven Brill, Jill Abramson, Mark Schoofs, and Bob Woodward (by far one of my favorite biographers of all time!), and its alumni, called Yale Journalism Scholars, now work at major storytelling platforms from The New York Times to NPR, from PBS to Slate and Buzzfeed and beyond.
In order for me to live out some of these childhood dreams of studying, nerding out, and learning from the best in my field, I have to pay some dues to hang in the Ivy World, because *capitalism*.
Here's the breakdown (Big Freeda voice):
- ((TRAVEL))
- Round-trip from MSP to HVN: $300.00 -- COMPLETE
- ((TUITION))
- $1,895.00
- $500 deposit due May 14th -- COMPLETE
- Paid in full ($1,395.00) by May 21st
- ((LODGING))
TOTAL: $2,490.00With your donation, I will be able to connect with others in (and around) my field who can provide me the elevated perspective in how to transform my
wordless pieces into impactful visual essays that can be used to drive real social change!
Thank you! <3
