YAY! The first "Harley to the Rescue" is complete and 64 dogs have been freed from puppy mills. We will not stop here, we will continue to fundraise. All future donations will be earmarked specifically for funding rescues. This was only the beginning....
Hi folks! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Harley and I'm a puppy mill survivor. "Harley to the Rescue" is my fundraising campaign. My hopes are to raise enough money to send National Mill Dog Rescue (along with me and my best buddy, Teddy) on a mission to save more puppy mill dogs.
NMDR has rescued more than 7,700 dogs from puppy mills over the past 6 years, and because they rely solely on donations/grants, they can only rescue as many dogs as their funding will allow. They saved dogs just like me who spent their lives living in small wire cages; never having the opportunity to run and play, not knowing what a soft bed is, or the kind touch of a human hand. Some dogs never see the sunshine, and the saddest thing - they never experieced love. I know all about this because I spent 10 years living like that.
We now have the details worked out and we'll be leaving for Missouri early on Friday, May 17th. Teddy and I will be posting photos and video clips on our facebook pages from the road, so stay tuned!
I guarantee that 100% of your donation will go directly to saving puppy mill dogs. The dogs we save will need names so be sure to offer a suggestion when you make your donation. At this point we don't know exactly how many dogs we can save, but we'll get as many as possible - so far we have 40+ on our list.
The initial goal was set at $2500, which is the basic cost to fund a rescue (excluding all medical costs). I've increased the goal to $10,000 - the more money we raise, the more rescue missions we can fund and the more dogs we can save!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
