Dear Friend,

"Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve." This quote from Mary Kay Ash reflects the Turner 12’s position on not only helping students achieve academic success, but helping them believe and dream beyond what they can see.

Children are the future of our nation. I don’t know about you, but I want to have a role in developing our future academic and community leaders. As a former educator and lifetime coach and supporter of youth, I’ve seen the benefits of what pouring time and resources into youth, who didn’t believe, dream or lacked the economic means to succeed. It’s a great feeling to know that you made a difference and helped transform lives.

The Turner 12, Inc., founded in 2000, helps under served students in the southern sector become college graduates and agents of change in their communities. Our mission is achieved through mentoring, service learning, academic and holistic enrichment. We take on 12 students at a time beginning in the seventh grade and work with them until they graduate from college. Currently, we start a new class of 12 students every six years. I am proud to say that through the Turner 12, I have 36 kids and would love to help more. There are so many more deserving students that need our help but we can’t do it alone. That’s where you come in.

Help me expand the reach of the Turner 12 to take on a new group of 12 students every three years and continue to support our students that are in the process of completing their college degrees. None of our success would be possible without the help of our friends and donors.

  • We’ve established the 1000 Scholars Club to allow our friends and family the opportunity to support our mission while making a difference in their community. Our goal is to find 1,000 people by August 1, 2013 who believe in helping students dream and succeed.
  • Say “yes” to the Turner 12 1000 Scholars Club by pledging to give a minimum gift of $100 annually.

As Ken Blanchard, author, speaker and global leader in leadership training said: “You have the power to help people become winners."
