The Anne Arundel County Literacy Council will hold its 3rd Annual 5K Fundraiser and Walk-a-thon on Saturday, October 13, 2018.  Our goal is to raise awareness of the Literacy Council’s exciting impact on the lives of thousands of adults and out-of-school youth living in our county.

This past year alone, we’ve provided free, one-on-one reading, writing, math and GED tutoring to 247 county residents.  The majority of these adults have children who directly benefit from their parents’ increased math and literacy skills.  After all, when parents can read to their children, help them with their homework, and easily communicate with teachers, the next generation of workers, voters, and potential community leaders benefits tremendously.

So join us October 13 (rain or shine!) and help spread the word about the Literacy Council’s vital work. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.  There will be a group photo at 9 a.m.  The walk will begin right after the group photo.  Every child and leashed dog who completes the walk will receive a prize. Drinks and snacks will be available.  The walk is FREE for all AACLC students and for youth ages 16 and under. For all others, a donation of $25 per person is greatly appreciated.  Please REGISTER if you plan on walking the trail with us.
